Our Story & How You Can Make Money Selling Cornhole Wraps Too!

We are fellow cornhole builders…just like you!

We’ve been building boards since 2015, right out of our garage. We were relying on one particular website to provide all of our cornhole wraps. When a customer called, we would show them this website’s designs, they would pick one out and we would order.

Well then came 2020 and suddenly, we were waiting 4-6 weeks to receive our wraps, even longer if it was a custom design.

We were so frustrated that we decided we would hire a designer to make our own cornhole wrap designs. This way, we had a print file that we could send to any printer in the country.

We teamed up with a printer out of the New England area who produced a great product, shipped quickly and was extremely accessible.

We thought…why not sell “just the wraps”? We have amazing designs, and we have an amazing guy who will print for us.

So we started an Etsy shop! The customer would order the wraps, we sent the order to our printer and he would ship to the customer (also known as a drop shipping model).

Before we knew it, the Etsy shop took off! We were making 3x the amount of money selling wraps than we were selling boards.

We were so busy that the printing company we were using had a hard time keeping up. And we found ourselves in a similar predicament… wraps were taking 7-10 business days (or more) to be shipped.

Frustrated again with the fact that we were still at someone’s mercy to fulfill orders, we said…let’s buy a printer! How hard can it be?

Well it wasn’t a walk in the park BUT with the money we had made selling wraps, we purchased a Roland printer, we purchased a lamination machine and found space to rent that would be big enough for what we needed to do.

Here we are today! We have since purchased a second printer. The reason was two-fold…so that we can keep up in the busy times and as a precaution- in case one goes down, we’ll still be able to fulfill orders.

The beginning of our story is probably a lot like yours! You get an inquiry from a customer, show them our designs, they pick, you order and build them an amazing set of cornhole boards!

That’s awesome and we are honored to be your wrap supplier!

But…maybe there are more ways for us to work together!

If you had your own designs, you could sell “just the wraps” too! Not a designer? Neither were we! We went on Upwork.com and found an amazing, young designer who had never heard of cornhole in his life. That was OK, he was smart and he had talent. He picked it up in a jiffy and we’ve been using him for over 2 years now. Every single design you see on our site has been made by him.

Or better yet, maybe you ARE a designer – or at least know your way around photoshop? PERFECT! You are in a great position to start selling wraps!

Once you have a catalog of designs (we recommend starting out with at least 15), you can post them on….Ebay, Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, Facebook, the list goes on!

We’ll partner with you at this stage as your wrap printer. You get the order, send it to us, and we’ll print/ship to your customer!

How much money can you make? Anywhere from $10-$20 per order, that’s quite a bit for just forwarding emails!

But won’t the wrap arrive looking like it came from cornholewrap.com? NOPE! It’ll look like it’s coming from your company. The return label will have your company name and we’ll include whatever inserts you’d like.

Should I just skip this step and purchase my own printer? You can but I wouldn’t recommend it initially. The reason we were so successful is because we had cultivated our customer base first and literally had 100 orders waiting for us when we fired up our printer for the first time. That made it worthwhile to purchase the printer.

Will purchasing a printer be worth it if I’m just printing wraps for myself? Unless you’re selling 20-30 cornhole sets per day, the answer is a big NO! Between the material costs, ink costs, overhead costs, time it takes to print and laminate, it does not make financial sense to purchase a printer just for your orders.

Won’t you be losing a customer if I follow this path and open my own print shop? Yes, but that’s OK! If you get to the point where you purchase your own printer, that means…we both made money along the way and we’ve helped a fellow builder find another steady stream of income. That is a huge win/win!
